Each year, our town, the city of Newton, puts on a week of celebration, leading up to the “Soldiers Reunion Parade”. The annual Soldiers Reunion celebration is believed to be the longest-running patriotic celebration not based on a holiday. Years ago when I was in the marching band, I used to march in this parade, but I had never really had the chance to be a part of the crowd until this time! It was really great to be able to join the town in honoring and remembering our veterans!
