So what’s a photo session or wedding like with us? You may be thinking, “How do I know if Revival Photography would be a fit for my wedding day?” or maybe you’ve never had a professional photo session or been around a wedding photographer before and you’re wondering what to expect.
A little about us… We are based out of North Carolina, and we love to travel for destination weddings. We love all things vintage, coffee shops, Bob Dylan, walking and talking, winter coats, going to concerts, spinning vinyl, spontaneous trips to the mountains, guitars, and spending time with Jesus. Jason's a geek and Heather's a bit of a nerd. :) We love to laugh and be ourselves. Yes, sometimes we do get hyper (especially Heather). We are who we are and we hope that being who we are you will be more comfortable being who you are as well. (eek, sorry if your eyes are all twisted now, that sentence was a bit of a tongue twister :)
So what can you expect on your wedding day? Every photographer has their own way of doing things, their own style, their own personality. That’s why it’s so important to learn about your wedding photographer, get to know them and most importantly, allow them to learn about you, your story, and what you want (and don’t want). With that being said, we try to blend in as much as we can. For most of the day, our goal is for you to forget we’re even there so that you forget that you are being photographed. Typically Heather will hang out with the bride + bridesmaids and Jason with the groom + groomsmen and then we will come together for the ceremony, post-ceremony photos and reception. When the time comes for the more “posed” photographs or the “family groups” after your wedding ceremony, we try to coordinate everyone in a way so that things go as smoothly and quickly as possible. With our couples and wedding party we love to keep it as low key and easy going as possible so that you will have fun and stay relaxed. Sometimes we might give a “direction” and then say “ok… go!” and let you do your thing while we stand back and capture the realness of the moment and catch you in your element. We love for our couples and wedding parties to give us their own ideas because many times those are the very best shots!
Here are some things our couples are saying…
“…Heather and Jason are wonderful - as an introverted bride (and not someone who is comfortable in front of a camera) I was concerned with finding the right photographer that would make me feel comfortable. These two are it. They are friendly and totally low-key and unassuming, yet are still able to coordinate a wedding party when the posed photographs are needed…”“During the reception I felt like they were both everywhere and nowhere - whenever I needed a photo taken *snap* Heather or Jason happened to be there, but they weren't intrusive in any way, they blended into the party…”“We did not want the standard wedding pictures where a room was set up with a standard backdrop and everyone had their canned photo taken which would appear boring and lacking in creativity. This pair blended right into the mix and captured moments that you didn't even realize they were shooting!”“They captured so many behind the scenes action that as a bride I could not have possibly experienced…”“The benefit of having two photographers there is something to take into consideration too--we got two different perspectives of everything that went on that day which was a lot of fun to see!”“You were both so professional and so discreet we barely knew you were there, looking at the pictures now, we have commented several times we didn't even realize you shooting!”“…Their efficiency streamlined the wedding photo process so that we were able to spend more time with our loved ones on our big day, and they made the day more memorable for the both of us…” “…I tend to by shy and nervous in front of the camera, but that hardly comes through in our pictures at all. They are great at capturing those sweet little moments that you will love looking back on after your wedding day…” “They were fantastic to work with and they made us feel so comfortable…”
